Second, players start by putting specific amounts into the pot. The amount varies and depends on whether you’re playing on a low stake or a high one. High, when the total pips on 4 dominoes yield 38 and above.

Low, when the total pips on 4 dominoes yield 9 or below.

Double, when 4 dominoes come with doubles.

It’s considered a straight when one other hand is above non-special hands but under double 9s. This happens when all 4 dominoes have consecutive pips. As an example, if the pips are 4, 5, 6, and 7. When you have 3 doubles, that is also a special hand. It’s called a kid with the 4th being alone.
